This Basha, he is our security guard. He is a very friendly guy who given up his hopes or maybe never had them for reaching higher in life. He earnes around 3000 Rupies a month(around 60 Euros) and is the only earner in his family. He is 24 and married. He failed school in the 10th grade and can barely read and write. Everyday he smiles at me and says: "Hello Sir! God Morning Sir! Coffee, Sir?" In trying to convince him to use his time while he is protecting the office to learn and read the English newspaper I failed. His argument: "I am married Sir there is no need to study anymore. This might be caused also by the fact that in schools students are still hit heavily. He and his wife dream of a little house they want to build. The marriage promise he had to make to his wife, is going once a month into the cinema. More often he can't afford. He has a good heart, he cares. He doesn't change his live, he lives. "Sir as long as I have food Sir I am happy." I am glad he is there reminding me that you should be grateful to the things you have but oposite to him I don't want to just live. I still have hopes, still have dreams. Will need to make a move. Soon!
